Rocket Stage Separation & Guided Parachute Recovery System

Main stage separation at 1500 ft using black powder canisters: designed it on CAD< manufactured it, and tested stage separation numerous times on the ground


 Guided Recovery System: The RAM air parachute's lines are controlled by a set of wheel drums and stepper motors, allowing for precise in-and-out movement similar to how a skydiver man

 Guided Recovery System: The RAM air parachute's lines are controlled by a set of wheel drums and stepper motors, allowing for precise in-and-out movement similar to how a skydiver maneuvers a parachute. I designed the complete deployment system, which includes the reefing process, pilot chute, and main chute deployment. Additionally, I conducted drop tests to validate the deployment sequence at a skydiving center.

Thermal Vacuum Chamber Testing of Satellite: Conducted thermal vacuum chamber tests, including both hot and cold conditions. Debugged issues on the thermal vacuum chamber itself: identified and fixed source of leak from TVAC chamber

Clean Room Manufacturing and Testing: Performed a series of clean room shifts for manufacturing and testing

Clean Room Manufacturing and Testing: Performed a series of clean room shifts for manufacturing and testing the satellite. This involved installing holograms, testing the magnetometer and electronics, and evaluating the light sail deployment actuation system, including test burns of wires and door deployment on the satellite 

Assemble the satellite prototype for hot-air balloon testing prior to launch

  Created an Artificial Intelligence hat that can aid the blind with mobility and spatial awareness by utilizing cameras, ultrasonic sensors, and image classification algorithms to identify objects in the user’s environment. 

My Role: Team Captain - conduct design reviews, iterate prototype, create electrical diagrams, create business plan

My Role: Team Captain - conduct design reviews, iterate prototype, create electrical diagrams, create business plan, network with industry to find target audience of visually impaired members and file a patent for the innovation 

 Featured on Cheddar News and Optimum, our device will provide the blind a sense of safety, security, and overcome common social stigmas allowing them to be more comfortable in society.
